“I wanted to show that we can create a viable business with something small and humble like a chopstick - I thought if I could show that and not only make that viable, but profitable and efficient, then maybe that could pave the path to a circular economy.”
- Felix Böck, Founder & CEO of ChopValue
Over 100 billion chopsticks are imported to North America each year – and end up in landfills after just one use. From production to shipping to disposal, small chopsticks have a big footprint.
ChopValue has a proprietary process to clean and enjoin chopsticks into a composite material that can be used for a variety of building and decorative products. ChopValue extends the lifetime of the carbon stored in the bamboo – which on top of their lean sourcing, manufacturing and distribution practices earns them a carbon negative status.
